Malibu Beach Proposal Photographer | Blair Proposes to Kristina at El Matador Beach Photos
I'm loving these photos of Blair's proposal to Kristina at the beach in Malibu! The two were on vacation (from the east coast), and had scheduled a photo shoot under the guise of maternity photos at the beach. The two are expecting their first child in a couple months, and this vacation was their "babymoon." Kristina knew about the photoshoot, but she didn't know about the surprise proposal. It was the perfect guise to get her all dressed up at this beautiful location and let the magic ensue.

I met Blair and Kristina in the parking lot and we walked down together, chatting and getting to know one another. For the first half hour or so, it was a maternity/couples portrait photo shoot with all the usual laughs and kisses and giggles.
After making our way down the sand to a more secluded part of the beach, Blair waited for me to drop the wink-wink-nudge-nudge pre-determined code word (which was, "Okay, I'm going to take a really wide postcard-shot of the two of you and the coastline.") That cue gave him space and time to give Kristina a twirl, fish the ring box out of his pocket, a smoothly take a knee in the sand, just as a gentle wave lapped around his feet.
Once he asked the question and she said YES!!, the photo shoot pivoted from a couple/maternity session to an elated engagement session. These sweet moments after Blair's proposal are some of my favorites from the whole evening.
Like these?? If you're planning a proposal of your own in the coming weeks and months, you'll definitely want proposal photography. The moment of a proposal is so filled with meaning and excitement, and it is worth documenting beautifully. I've shot over a dozen proposals and each one is unique and special.
