Emily and Chris' Leo Carrillo Malibu Beach wedding photos were a mix of part post-COVID wedding photoshoot, part beach elopement, part family portrait session and all dreamy sunset sky goodness. This couple and their family was so much fun to celebrate and snap photos with. Emily picked a beautiful wedding dress with a high neckline (I mean, she's a triathlete, so that was DEF the right choice) and Chris wore his wedding suit and we frolicked barefoot at low tide snapping these pics on the sand and on the cliffs above.
These out-of-towners love to travel, so they planned a magical getaway to sunny Southern California to celebrate their engagement, and they remembered to book these special engagement photos while they were in town! Cheers to Alexa and Matt! Congrats on your engagement and your upcoming wedding. Come see me in Malibu on the honeymoon!
These Malibu family photos were so dreamy and filled with breezy laughter. I loved shooting at Leo Carrillo, where the sweeping clifftop views and hidden details of the many pocket beaches allow for unlimited exploring for curious kiddos.
For Abdul's Malibu beach proposal, he knew that Alex loves sunflowers, so he created a pathway of sunflowers in the sand and waited on the beach with a ring box in his pocket. She showed up, en route to "brunch with sister," and the stage was set. She saw Abdul, he grabbed her hand and led her down the sunflower path, got down on one knee... and she said yes. After that we snapped a bunch of beautiful engagement photos at the beach! Can't wait for these two lovebirds to get married on the beach in a few months.
Carrie and Thad are getting married this summer in Colorado, but they wanted engagement photos here at the beach to commemorate their Los Angeles life together. Together with their (incredibly camera-friendly) dog, we explored the cliffs, tide pools, and coves of Leo Carrillo State Beach for their engagement photos.
This ocean-loving couple is getting married in October (at the beach) and they wanted to commemorate their love story with sunrise photos at one of their favorite haunts: Leo Carrillo. Kelsey grew up swimming at this beach where the strong waves helped her build her confidence as a swimmer and eventually become a lifeguard. Now she is a competitive obstacle course racer. So basically I'm surprised she and James didn't wind up ditching me on the sand to dive under the waves together. But I'm glad they didn't because these shots are just the greatest.
Can't wait for Kelsey-and-James-fest 2.0 this October! Location: Leo Carrillo State Beach at sunrise |
