Happy fifth anniversary to Jordan and Mandee! We had so much fun snapping these sweet couples photos at Emma Wood State Beach in Ventura, CA. What a lovely beach and sunset and an awesome couple!
Emily and Chris' Leo Carrillo Malibu Beach wedding photos were a mix of part post-COVID wedding photoshoot, part beach elopement, part family portrait session and all dreamy sunset sky goodness. This couple and their family was so much fun to celebrate and snap photos with. Emily picked a beautiful wedding dress with a high neckline (I mean, she's a triathlete, so that was DEF the right choice) and Chris wore his wedding suit and we frolicked barefoot at low tide snapping these pics on the sand and on the cliffs above.
I'm so glad the Slones stayed at Calamigos Ranch so we could take their family pictures together on the property! The Ranch is such a beautiful natural setting for photos (it's no wonder it's also a very popular wedding venue!) filled with mini-forests and cultivated gardens. We shot these photos mid-morning while the grounds were quiet and explored some of the gardens and buildings on the property. Lucky us we happened upon this very stylish chair for some editorial-style family pictures to go along with the more casual, natural ones. (Click "Read More" below to view more photos from the Slone's gallery)
Please note: Calamigos Ranch is not open to the public. It is a private guest ranch, which means only guests staying on the property are allowed to schedule photo sessions. If you are planning a stay at Calamigos Ranch, give me a shout and let's schedule a family photo session for you! Every year around the solstice, there's a SUPER low tide in Malibu that exposes beautiful Broad Beach as a shiny mirror. If you're lucky enough to have a colorful sunset on that same date, and lucky enough to plan family pictures on said date, the resulting photos are sure to be magic. I'm so glad the Schetter family (with a little planning and a little luck) got these beautiful Broad Beach Malibu family pictures to adorn their walls. (Click Read More to view their gallery.)
This girl!!! WHUT. She smiles, she glows, she smolders, she slays. She set my camera on fire with her laughter AND her beauty. I may be dating myself here but I've known Bri since she was 10 (maybe even longer), so to get to snap pictures of her as a senior in high school, as a full-grown adult is just blowing my mind. And she totally owned it, as you'll see in these photos. I loved this session because her sisters and mama (those Plank women are thick as thieves) came along to her session to, well, hype her off camera, and then jump in a few sisters-and-mama portraits that are legit going to wind up in all their cell phone lock screen backgrounds (and in framed prints on their walls).
Thanks Bri for thinking of me to document these sweet, beautiful, meaningful moments in your exciting life! I can't wait to see what adventures are in store for you in the next chapter. What a powerhouse! Congratulations to Simone, on graduating from high school and beginning of a new and exciting chapter in life. Simon's Malibu senior pictures pack as much personality, fun and creativity as Simone does. I love that she brought along a pair of sunglasses to spice up her session, and her sister (aka travel buddy and best friend) was willing to jump in for a few snaps at the end, which made it extra special.
This adventurous couple lucked out and got to shoot their engagement photos at the beach in Malibu at Point Dume's secluded hidden cove. The tide doesn't always cooperate but this time it did and we got to shoot among the rocks (and the beautiful salty spray) at sunset. After playing in the water, we hiked up to the top of the cliff for some extra special sunset views of the coastline together. Then we had a little time to finish off the shoot with some fun silhouettes with the orange and blue sunset. *chef's kiss!*
So excited for Kari and Eric to get married! Conejo Valley Wedding Photos | Joel and Claire Wedding at Conejo Valley Church of Christ Pictures10/31/2020
It was COVID. Their venue changed. A lot of plans changed. But one thing that didn't change was the fact that Joel and Claire were definitely going to say their vows and dance the night away surrounded by family and friends. So happy for these two and their love story!
Highlights:
These beachy El Matador engagement photos knocked it out of the park! Mostly because Jon and Kathleen are gorgeous and funny and ultra-compatible, but also a little bit because the golden sunsets in October in Malibu are legendary. So just in case you've ever wondered what it's like to be gorgeous and in love and also lucky (these kids scored a beautiful low tide sunset), just ask Jon and Kathleen.
