I love shooting senior photos at the Adamson House in Malibu because there are so many fun textures, colors, and backdrops to explore. From a sea foam painted greenhouse to vintage California tile work to endless blue ocean vistas, this place has it all.

With its acres of gardens, outbuildings, and prime beachfront setting, the Adamson House is the perfect setting for snapping a set of timeless portraits. Summer (with Mama and doggo in tow!) and I explored every nook and cranny of old Malibu estate and came out the other side with these gems.

Disclaimer: Summer snapped these during her freshman year of college, buuuuuut I'm still counting them in the senior portraits category.

Julie | Malibu Senior Portrait Photography at the Adamson House

Julie is a lacrosse-playing, no-shoes-wearing, bundle of hopes and dreams for the future. That's why I LOVE senior portraits, because it gives me the chance to get excited with you about college, the end of high school, the next steps. It also reminds me that life unfolds in stages; and the only rule in that is you can't ever go back. So the moral of the story? Don't rush it. Enjoy this stage. Enjoy now.

We shot Julie's senior portraits at the historic Adamson House, right on the beach in Malibu, CA. We've been getting rain recently, so the grass was crazy green and the sky perfectly clean and clear. We picked golden hour on a Monday and had the whole grounds to ourselves. The house has lots of nooks and crannies on the outside, that offer visual interest. In Julie's photos, you'll see some of the distinct Malibu tile that decorates the patios and fountains. Julie's older brother and younger sister jumped into a few of the shots and we even convinced Mom to take a few!

Congratulations Julie on being a senior and I hope you go to Pepperdine!!
