Sweet Seven Weeks | Santa Monica, CA

This little beauty queen couldn't have been a more perfect model on a cloudy Santa Monica day. At seven weeks old, her beautiful huge eyes never stayed closed for long, but we still managed to snap a few sleepy ones.

What a treat to spend some special time with mom and her new little love at the same time!

Like these? I love taking pictures of babies as young as a few days old. And since babies are always changing and growing, there's never a bad time to capture some special moments of how they looked when they were small.

Hannah's Senior Portraits | El Matador Beach, Malibu, CA

Hannah is a sweet Southern belle from Arkansas who visited Malibu for her cousin's high school graduation. What better place to kick off her senior portraits than the beach? We started at their beach rental house for a few poolside frames, then headed down to my favorite portrait beach, El Matador State Beach (made famous for the "I'm a bird" scene in The Notebook).

Even on a foggy June morning, low tide at El Matador was stunning with plenty of space for walking and rock hopping. The marine layer meant we had the whole beach to ourselves!

Snatch work at Crossfit Malibu | Fitness Photography

Another rep, another day, another breath on the pain train. I'm so inspired by and honored to work out and do life with the strong people at Crossfit Malibu.

Taking pictures at CFM is secretly (mostly) an excuse to take cool pictures of my devilishly handsome husband. You're welcome, world.

Elizabeth & Jake Wedding Photos | Calamigos Ranch, Malibu, CA | 05.16.15

I first met Elizabeth when she was a bridesmaid in Jen & Cyrus' wedding last August. I was immediately struck by the close-knit bond the women shared with one another. They were—and are—truly friends for life. A few months later, the same crew of bridesmaids assembled again, this time for Elizabeth to marry Jake, the love of her life, on the evening of May 16th, 2015, at Calamigos Ranch.

With a history in event planning and many close friends offering their talents and services, Elizabeth made sure no detail was left unnoticed. One friend poured her vision and creativity into the many flower arrangements. Another friend brought his artistic vision to create the sense of space, even lighting scented candles that matched the mood of the occasion. The mother of the bride delicately hand wrote all the name cards. The veil was trimmed with lace from her mother's own wedding dress. Cactus Cooler (Jake's favorite!) refreshed guests during cocktail hour and a tree filled with butterflies (reminders of Elizabeth's father, who passed away earlier last year) greeted guests as they transitioned to the reception.

Jake and Elizabeth, thank you for your joy and love for one another! I am so excited for your life together as you show your friends and the world what real, Christlike love in marriage looks like!

Connemara Ranch | Facility Photography | Malibu, CA

Countless individuals have visited Connemara Ranch to improve their riding skills or experience the therapeutic presence of the horses and animals. The facility is looking ahead to a busy summer season and needed some beautiful photography of the animals, buildings, and surrounding area for their online presence. Should you ever find yourself in need of a stunning sunset, a silent afternoon among the oak trees, or a quick nuzzle from a horse, Connemara Ranch might be your place.

Leatherberry Family Portraits at El Matador State Beach | Malibu, CA

Some families have a love for one another that fills the room. And then there are those families whose love is so big, it fills the beach. The Leatherberrys are one of these families. Rich & Kristen are deeply in love. Their 3 kids share a common bond that practically involves telepathic communication. Lauren's husband, Taylor, has been embraced as one of their own.

On a Saturday morning in May, right before Lauren's graduation from her masters program at Pepperdine, we all met at El Matador Beach to enjoy a sun-drenched walk in the sand. Together they explored caves, dodged waves, and even paused at the end for a family-sized selfie!

It's such an honor to share these photos with the Leatherberry family and with you!
