To see the photos, it totally doesn't look like June (look at that moody sky!) but that's just summer in Malibu: unpredictable. But with unpredictable comes reward and I couldn't be happier with Brian and Morgan's sweet beach first look and couple portraits, set to the backdrop of a moody sky and blue crashing waves.
Brian and Morgan honored their Jewish heritage with the signing of a beautiful ketubah before the ceremony, as well as the crowd-pleaser glass-stomp (mazal tov!) and of course the hora chair dance that always makes me cringe because I'm afraid someone is going to take a tumble (but not to worry... everyone survived). Congratulations to Brian and Morgan! It's so evident in your calm and peaceful chemistry that your companionship runs deep and true and I'm so happy for you to begin the rest of your life together! This beautiful Malibu West Beach Club wedding was complete with scarlet bridesmaid dresses and roses, fresh white tuxedo jackets on the groom and his gents, and (my favorite detail) the bride wore her mother-in-law to be's wedding gown, featuring a miles-long train that was just perfect for stunning sunset portraits. What a joyful celebration of a truly incredible couple!

Location: Malibu West Beach Club Think you might recognize Kelsey and James? Probs because I shot their engagement session a few months back at Leo Carrillo.... at SUNRISE no less >> Yep, that's this same awesome, hilarious, adventurous, best-friends couple. Kaley & Trevor's 09-09 wedding was filled with meaningful and earthy details. From barefoot bride Kaley to her goddess-dress bedecked bridesmaids to the poetically beautiful personalized vows, this ceremony left no sweet word unsaid. By the end of the night, even I was feeling all the feels.

With warm sunshine stretching into the evening, and cocktails passed between loved ones, this gathering was swimming in love and sweetness from beginning to end.

Everywhere I looked, it seemed, there was someone covered with beautiful ink. And all the rest of the guests who weren’t tattooed looked like they stepped out of an LA fashion mag. I was all heart-eyes all day long.
And what’s more, everyone at the wedding was as beautiful inside as they were outside. So much love. So much caring was passed from person to person over the course of the night. From the first Miller light can-in-a-coozie toast to the last smear of white cake frosting, this party was all about fun, togetherness and the best friendship that brought Lindsay and Jeff to the altar in the first place. Arpi and Edward's May wedding was all about family and shared experience together. From the big party bus that all the family arrived in, to the infinite number of hugs and kisses exchanged, to the extended group dancing at reception, it's obvious these are families who love one another hard and love to celebrate and be together.
Malibu West Beach Club brides take note: Arpi and Edward liked the idea of a beach front wedding, but they don't love sand in their shoes, so they opted for some pre-ceremony photos under the trees at Zuma Canyon Trailhead. With easy parking and a convenient location that's just down the road from Malibu West Beach Club, this was the perfect spot to assemble the family together beforehand for portraits, without running into the florist and catering staff. It also adds a lovely pop of dreamy foresty backdrop to the otherwise beachy wedding photo gallery. Highly recommend!
