Growth and Development Company Website | Wahlstrom Consulting

This creative, thoughtful, high-touch leadership development company needed a website just as hand-crafted and artful as the services they provide. We opted to use Wix's platform to develop this website because of all the creative control it gives in the design and creation process.

The website features a wild use of color and texture through organic shapes and soft curving lines. We used bold color and text where necessary to convey mastery and trust.

We used photos (with color overlays to keep with the color palette) to convey the human element. The custom logo also evokes playfulness combined with sleek minimalist professionalism through the use of soft lines and whimsical shapes together with a strong typeface.

Branding & Website Design for Pepperdine's Drone Entrepreneurship Conference

The Pepperdine School of Law and the Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship & the Law wanted to host an event that brought together the tech community. The subject is drones, particularly entrepreneurship in the drone sector. The target audience is young, tech savvy, and slightly geeky. The Palmer Center wanted a branding scheme that appealed to the target audience and a website platform that allowed for online registration and to showcase the content of the event.

Once all that was complete, they needed t-shirts, event print materials, and a variety of collateral to support the event experience. I used a clean black & white color scheme with hits of Pepperdine's orange & blue. Take a look!

Like this? A branding scheme that shows up in social media posts, print materials, and digital broadcast forums (like a website) is called an integrated marketing strategy. These projects are a BLAST for me because I get to do it all and every piece matches.

New Website & Online Store | Sharla Barrett Skin Care

Sharla Barrett Skin Care is an esthetician and skin care retailer based in Malibu, CA. Sharla loves sharing her passion for healthy and beautiful skin with her clients in person through facials and treatments and online through her blog and online store. In order to showcase the many wonderful products Sharla uses and stands by in her practice, Sharla uses Weebly's e-commerce feature. The user-friendly interface allows Sharla to upload photos she takes (or finds on the web) of the products, write descriptions, keep track of inventory and even process payment from inside her store.

Sharla's customers enjoy peace of mind knowing their payment information is safe and that Sharla will be ready to answer any questions they may have.

Logo & Branding | Nonprofit Leadership Collaborative

The Nonprofit Leadership Collaborative is a project that launched in fall 2013 in the business division at Pepperdine University designed to connect students interested in the nonprofit sector with experiences, projects and mentors who can help them along their path.

After developing the initial logo, I went to work creating more print and digital marketing pieces to support the new brand. After that I built their website.

Retreat Branding | Pepperdine Unplugged

Pepperdine puts on an annual retreat for students and staff to unplug their lives--gadgets, networks, distractions--and recharge in a spiritual way. The retreat planning team needed a logo and branding scheme for the whole weekend.

Once we had the logo set, we built out from there: marketing strategy, printed materials, schedule, name tags, even a custom journal for the participants to keep.

Logo & Branding Design | Michelle's Malibu Meals

Born and raised locally in Malibu, Michelle grew up working at Alice's, her dad's iconic restaurant on the Malibu pier. Michelle's love affair with food followed her into adulthood when she started catering private events for friends.

Michelle came to me with a vision for a boutique catering and custom meal delivery service. She needed the total package (web, social, print, photography) so we started with her brand identity and built out from there. Michelle's Malibu Meals' brand identity is styled on beautiful food photography, bright orange, white, warm wood and a hint of whimsy (her logo involves a hand-drawn bird).

Logo & Brand Design | Pepperdine University Housing & Residence Life

Pepperdine University is a world class liberal arts institution that boasts a 180 degree ocean view. Their campus housing has been voted the best in the nation over and over again. The Department of Housing and Residence Life (HRL) needed a little brand construction.
We were inspired by the midwest roots of Pepperdine's founder (who made his fortune initially by starting Western Auto Supply) and put together a logo kit that pulled elements from vintage auto signs while incorporating the Pepperdine color scheme.
The HRL logo is versatile and can break up into pieces based on the graphic in question while always staying recognizable. Check out examples of the HRL logo in action below.

T-Shirts: MITS 1995, The Well, Pepperdine, etc.

I design a lot of t-shirts.... Here are a couple mock ups and actual photos of what has come off the press.

And while I'm on the subject, if you live within driving distance of Reseda and you need a shirt printing shop, Carlos over at West Pac Designs has the best customer service on the planet. I sing the praises of his shop and his team whenever someone asks. He always texts me a photo of the first piece off the press, responds to emails almost instantaneously, and I'll never print anywhere else.

Logo Design & Branding for Jenny Schatzle Program in Santa Barbara, CA

Jenny Schatzle is one of those people that, once you meet her, you never forget. She is energetic, freakishly positive, and uses lots of exclamation points—both in her facebook posts and in life. Santa Barbara locals are turning their lives and their bodies around with the Jenny Schatzle Program.

Jenny's team already had a vision for what kind of logo they wanted (smiley-face-yellow is Jenny's signature color—go figure) and they just needed me to whip it into reality. I have loved watching the JSP brand identity grow and flourish as it shows up on keychains, bags, shirts and promotional pieces.
