Chad and Hailey's wedding took place at an incredibly cool venue near the Port of LA. The expansive warehouse space with industrial details and strung everywhere with market lights provided the perfect backdrop to celebrate the new couple as the sun went down.
Saturday, November 18 Getting ready: Hailey's family home Ceremony & Reception: 4:15pm at Crafted LA Wedding coordinator: Sweet Peach Planning Cocktails: The Cocktail Concierge Catering: Beachwood BBQ, Long Beach DJ: DJ Mike Gonzo I'm the youngest in a family of six, so hanging out with the Jackson family always hits a special little heartstring. It's fun for me to imagine my own family being at this stage (because I definitely don't remember it) and also so see another family of six who is a stand for big love, big laughter, big hugs and cuddles, and always says yes to adventure.... like walking down 900+ stairs to the beach, then all the way back up to the clifftop like champs.
I can't get enough of this mini holiday session with the Begert family! Taylor and Lauren are dear friends who embody joy and abundant love to everyone around them. It's only fitting, then, that their firstborn son, Isaiah, also brings joy and a smile to anyone's face who meets him.
We stopped by Malibu Bluffs Park on a Friday morning to snap some moments in the midst of the Begert family's life together. The cool thing about a mini session is that it's short, which makes it ideal for kiddos with short attention spans. We only shoot for 30 minutes, which takes the pressure off the parents to keep their kid happy and entertained for a long time. Interested in a mini session? Shoot me an email! I think you have to have a pretty warm heart to endure a blustery, down right chilly afternoon portrait session at Zuma Beach in November. Mind you, "chilly" in Southern California should always be taken with a grain of salt, but Mike, Stephanie, and little Mila brought all the cuddles and snuggles, despite the stormy seas.... and these photos are even better because of that.
What a wonderful time of year to be celebrating family and a new baby, on the way in the spring! I've been loving these at-home shoots lately, even and especially when there's a newborn in the mix. There's nothing like taking a few minutes to freeze time, especially when it feels like it all moves way too fast.
The holidays, a new baby brother, a cool grassy backyard, a sweet scooter.... all good reasons to celebrate with a family mini session at home! Whitney (mama) is a dear friend of mine who is really good at remembering to schedule photo shoots at regular intervals, to document the ever-changing, picture-perfectly imperfect moments that make up life with little ones. (She's also really good at remembering to print those photos too... I know, she needs to teach us all.) This at-home session was sweet and unexpected and snuggly, just like I imagine life with two-and-a-half-year-old and newborn boys is.
Imagine Fest is a yoga and music festival that occurs in Malibu, CA, every year. The vibe is natural, youthful, and artistic, sprinkled with a generous helping of palo santo smoke. This photo shoot provided the foundation for their promotional efforts this year: from poster backgrounds to social media posts and website banners.
