Korey and Bev are engaged!!!! And we snapped these awesome sunset beach engagement photos at El Matador State Beach on a gorgeous January evening a few months before their wedding. I'm so excited to photograph Korey and Bev's wedding in March.
The amazing M family is growing and changing and with every added human, I think the love this family shares seems to double! We planned these beautiful beach family photos at El Matador Beach in Malibu, CA, to make the most of the early winter sunsets (kids need to eat dinner!) Between the hugs, kisses, splashes, rock scrambles, and cave exploring, we were able to capture so many beautiful moments that this awesome family will treasure for years to come.
The Horn family planned a beach vacation and thought ahead... to beach family photos! The Horns are expecting baby #2, a little sister for their son, and they are SO excited to welcome a new little one into the world.
We met at El Matador State Beach for some family and maternity photos, snapping a mix of candids and posed, laughing and connecting and appreciating the sunset as the sky turned gold and then pink and then blue. I feel like you could rename this family photoshoot, "The Many Faces of Ford." This kid is a HOOT. He smiles, he roars, he laughs, he yells, he pouts, he smolders, and he does it all in rapid succession on after the other.
We scheduled this sweet beach family photo session in Malibu at El Matador Beach on a beautiful weekday evening in October. (Weekday is key... that's why we have the whole beach to ourselves!) Cam and Abby are friends of mine who I've known since their newlywed days at law school. Now here they are with a firecracker of a son, expecting another in the new year! Loved shooting this beautiful sunny family session at our legendary El Matador coastline. Weddings don't have to be complicated. They can be barefoot on the sand with just your family within easy hugging distance. They can be no-music, no-fuss, just the basics, with Dad officiating the vows and brothers passing little jars of champagne. They can be on the sand of a public beach, with strangers walking by and offering their well-wishes. They can be simple. And beautiful. At the same time.
Erin and Andy did just that. These east-coasters celebrated their vows on the beach in Southern California, but they managed to avoid the 5-figure venue price tag by opting to gather their families on the sand at El Matador. On a sunny fall day, with a sprinkling of Angelenos enjoying the sunset nearby, Erin and Andy and eighteen family members circled up on the sand and shared a moment of new beginning. . After a quick set of family and couple photos, the whole crew piled into cars to share a candlelit farm to table meal together at the iconic Malibu Pier. . Simple, meaningful, and beautiful all rolled into one. Who says families have to have little kids to be so much fun? This awesome family of six laughed and teased and splashed and played their way all over El Matador beach and every photo seemed better than the last.
What an exciting summer Chrissy had! She got to visit Malibu to attend tennis camp and Pepperdine and while she was here, we snapped these beautiful senior portraits to commemorate her last summer before the end of high school.
We started out at Westlake Village Inn, exploring the beautiful gardens and pathways (perfect for when the sun is high in the sky) and finished up at my all-time fave, El Matador State Beach. Thanks Chrissy for coming all the way out to California just to shoot your Malibu senior portraits with me ;-) (PS come to Pepperdine) The Blunt family is growing and they get sweeter by the day! I have loved documenting this beautiful family as they celebrate milestones and their love deepens as their numbers grow. What a beautiful, softly lit afternoon at El Matador State Beach for family and maternity photos.
Just when I thought the Humkar family couldn't get any cuter, they go and make another baby! I’m so excited to welcome baby Zara into the world but for now, I sure am enjoying snapping photos of little Zayne cuddling with dad and kissing Mama Rina’s belly. Loved shooting this family session on a foggy marine layer-y June day at El Matador State Beach in Malibu.
And then ten days later, I was at the hospital photographing Zara's birth! >> Does something look a little different about Ilse and Louis' gorgeous elopement photos at El Matador Beach? That's because we did the shoot at sunrise! That's right, this awesome couple got ready and met me at the beach at 6:45 am for sunrise (which turned out to be perfectly cloudy and all pastels all morning long) and it was totally worth it to have the WHOOLLE beach to ourselves! If you've been to El Matador, you know that it can be challenging to have a clean background due to other people enjoying the beach (who can blame them? It's stunning.) But a sunrise session at El Matador meant we were alone with the beautiful light, freshly smoothed sand, and expanse of rocks to climb all over. It was a dream come true!
Though based inland, Ilse and Louis wanted to snap elopement photos at El Matador because they getaway to the beach any chance they have (and I can totally see why!). I'm so thrilled they found me online (yay Google!) and we got to spend these special moments together making some truly frame-worthy images to commemorate the beginning of their life together. |
