Malibu Beach Proposal Photographer | Blair Proposes to Kristina at El Matador Beach Photos6/12/2020
I'm loving these photos of Blair's proposal to Kristina at the beach in Malibu! The two were on vacation (from the east coast), and had scheduled a photo shoot under the guise of maternity photos at the beach. The two are expecting their first child in a couple months, and this vacation was their "babymoon." Kristina knew about the photoshoot, but she didn't know about the surprise proposal. It was the perfect guise to get her all dressed up at this beautiful location and let the magic ensue.

I can't decide whether Erin Is a woodland nymph or a vampire-vibe fairytale princess, which I suppose makes Jordan either a demi-god or a mod Prince Charming, respectively. Either way, the likelihood of a talking animal sidekick is 11/10. As if this love story didn't already resemble a fairytale, Jordan proposed with Disney mouse ears... and I'm not crying, you're crying. Lara and Allen's Malibu engagement photo session brought out their fiery passion and playful friendship that makes them such an inspiring couple. I'm so excited to see what these two powerhouses do together!
I don't know how he kept it a secret, but Nishant's Malibu proposal (while on vacation) went perfectly—even though he had never been to this beach, even though he somehow managed to get Pooja dressed up and get her a manicure, and even though it was a busy spring weekend in LA with everyone enjoying the beach at the same time.
Congrats to these two as they plan their wedding (and carve out some time from their busy double-med-school-resident schedules to celebrate)! Agoura Hills Wedding Photographer | Bev and Korey's Agoura Hills Event Center Wedding Photos3/7/2020
Bev and Korey's Agoura Hills Recreation and Event Center wedding was so delightful and easygoing, full of sweet touches from family and friends and their shared church community. This was my first time shooting a wedding at this awesome venue, and I hope to return many more times! This location is set up for photography, with lots of beautiful textures, landscaping, and a gorgeous valley view. Korey and Bev opted to share a first look and exchange personal vows before their ceremony, on a grassy hillside near the event center and it was the perfect way to calm the pre-ceremony jitters as well as nab some knockout couple photos beneath a moody, almost-rainy sky. Officiants: Gary and Tammy Selby (personal friends of the bride and groom) Wedding coordinator: Rebecca Elkins (family friend) Flowers: Claire Reynolds (friend of the bride and groom) Bev's dress: Terry Costa, Dallas, TX DJ/MC: friend of the bride Food/Beverage/Catering: local favorite Wood Ranch BBQ Dessert: Blue Bell ice cream
Malibu Beach Proposal Photography | Bray and Taylor at El Matador Proposal and Engagement Photos1/25/2020
This Malibu beach proposal was about as picture perfect as you can possibly get. With a hazy golden sunset and a troop of family members flown in *surprise* from the east coast, to celebrate the moment when Taylor said yes when Bray asked the most important question of both their lives. With a little planning ahead (making sure they knew and I knew where to stand), we pulled off these beautiful photos of the moment and the aftermath, with all the hugs, kisses, and champagne toasts from beloved family.
And I even got to take 20 to sneak these two away for a couples-only session to snap a set of photos for their invitations, frames, wedding website, etc. Congratulations, Bray and Taylor, on your engagement! Korey and Bev are engaged!!!! And we snapped these awesome sunset beach engagement photos at El Matador State Beach on a gorgeous January evening a few months before their wedding. I'm so excited to photograph Korey and Bev's wedding in March.
For Abdul's Malibu beach proposal, he knew that Alex loves sunflowers, so he created a pathway of sunflowers in the sand and waited on the beach with a ring box in his pocket. She showed up, en route to "brunch with sister," and the stage was set. She saw Abdul, he grabbed her hand and led her down the sunflower path, got down on one knee... and she said yes. After that we snapped a bunch of beautiful engagement photos at the beach! Can't wait for these two lovebirds to get married on the beach in a few months.
Ben and Nicole's backyard wedding in Malibu, California, was just the right combination of everything. Just the right amount of indoor furniture moved outside, so guests would feel at home in the flow of the indoor-outdoor space. Just the right amount of seasonal flowers and grasses, adorning tables, chairs, and peeking out from behind lanterns as though they grew there. Just the right number of well-wishers, all hand-picked by the bride and groom and their families to symbolize their past and future together. Bride (Nicole) got ready at the home, which belongs to the groom's (Ben's) father, surrounded by her sisters, future in-laws, mama, and beloved dog, Snoopy. Once guests arrived, they found their seats amid the welcoming embrace of a hand-built teepee, bedecked with grasses and flowers. Ben and Nicole's ceremony was filled with happy tears, remembering loved ones and looking forward to many years of shared joy. Afterward, we snapped a few more photos in the nooks and crannies of the backyard as guests sipped cocktails and shared delicious bites.
San Francisco Wedding Photographer | Our Lady of the Presidio and SF Film Centre Wedding Photos9/28/2019
This is how much Katie and Doug's people love them; literally none of their guests live in San Francisco, and yet, when they planned a wedding in the city of the Golden Gate, over a hundred people flew in from across the country and across the ocean (Brad's Aussie!) for the celebration. With so many fun-loving (and sort of jet-lagged) people in town, Katie and Brad's wedding was a weekend-long series of festivities, complete with a rugby match at a pub the night before, loads of opportunities for sightseeing and hiking in the morning, and a picnic in the park the day after the wedding.
Unexpectedly, San Francisco's signature fog layer lifted right at sunset, allowing us a window of time for gorgeous (and windy!) couple photos in between the ceremony and the reception at SF Film Centre.
