The newest Brentwood fitness club on the block in summer 2014 is Orangetheory Fitness. The company, with a nationwide network of locations, uses the science of heart rate based interval training to keep you in "the orange zone" (or 84%-91% of your max heart rate) where optimum fat loss occurs. That's the short version. If you're still curious, read the science behind it. Each client wears a heart rate monitor and their heart rate shows up on a television screen up on the wall.
The slick new Brentwood (11661 San Vicente Boulevard
Los Angeles, CA 90049) location asked me to snap some pictures during a recent sneak peek friends and family workout. The workout unfolded in 3 basic types of movement, divided into intervals: running on a treadmill, rowing on a WaterRower (cool!) and varied weight training.
