Moorea and Ryan's Paradise Cove wedding in Malibu was a whole vibe. The couple met in Malibu through their time as students at Pepperdine University. Their wedding took place at Paradise Cove, just a stone's throw from the house the bride grew up in. Because of the presence of lifelong friends and neighbors, the whole day felt a little bit like an elevated block party meets family reunion meets editorial surf-style content shoot. The sun was perfect, the wispy clouds hung on for just the right light, and sets of clean surfable waves dragged the Paradise Cove beach all afternoon and into the evening.
Moorea and Ryan did a bunch of fun things to make the wedding day their own, but my favorite by far was the switcheroo they pulled between the cocktail hour and the wedding. In LA, traffic can be murder, so the couple opted to plan a cocktail hour when all the guests and friends could mingle with the bride and groom and family before the ceremony began. It was the perfect way for everyone to gather and catch up and spend the afternoon together. Coordinator: Misha (sister of the bride) Venue: Paradise Cove, Malibu, CA Officiant: Xanthe (friend of the couple) Food/Beverage/Catering: Maria (friend of the couple) Videographer: Ryan and Helen (family friend who will be taking film photos as a gift) DJ/Music: J & J Events Cake: Clay at Big Sugar Bake Shop Dress: Jenny Yoo There is a lot to look forward to these days... and Matthew and Maria's wedding is one of them! I can't wait for these two to tie the knot in Mexico this spring (mezcal tasting, anyone?), but for now I just get to hang out with them as a rad engaged couple and enjoy sunset beach clifftop picnics in Malibu with them.
Love you both. May your love continue to grow as you take on the world side by side. Coordinator: Kaycie Fellows, Critic’s Choice

Truly there's enough love here to fill the ocean and have more to spare! Steven and Contessa were on a getaway to sunny southern California and he planned a little something extra... a marriage proposal! He called me up and I helped plan the perfect surprise setup: dinner (so she would be dressed up) and a sunset drive up Pacific Coast Highway. They stopped off at the dreamy El Matador State Beach and, well, you can look through the pictures to gather the rest. Proposals are my favorite, FAVORITE, FAVORITE thing ever because this is real life! This is the good stuff.
Congratulations Steven and Contessa! May your love be one for the ages. Lucas and Lindsay's breathtaking Point Dume elopement had just the right amount of coastal breeze to lift her veil and provide a dramatic backdrop to their intimate vows. It also helps that Lucas is French and therefore showed up with a PER-FECT-LY tailored suit and the most suave demeanor. It's no wonder Lindsay is smitten with him. The two said their vows to love and cherish one another forever at the beautiful cliffscape state park of Point Dume. This is a wonderful choice to elope because there isn't much foot traffic so they had the whole coastal view to themselves.
Blessings to you both as you begin the adventure of your life together. (Read more to view the full gallery from this fantastic Malibu elopement.) I'm so glad the Slones stayed at Calamigos Ranch so we could take their family pictures together on the property! The Ranch is such a beautiful natural setting for photos (it's no wonder it's also a very popular wedding venue!) filled with mini-forests and cultivated gardens. We shot these photos mid-morning while the grounds were quiet and explored some of the gardens and buildings on the property. Lucky us we happened upon this very stylish chair for some editorial-style family pictures to go along with the more casual, natural ones. (Click "Read More" below to view more photos from the Slone's gallery)
Please note: Calamigos Ranch is not open to the public. It is a private guest ranch, which means only guests staying on the property are allowed to schedule photo sessions. If you are planning a stay at Calamigos Ranch, give me a shout and let's schedule a family photo session for you! This was a fun grad-plus-family combo! The French family all convened in Malibu to celebrate the graduation of their daughter Carolina and spend some time catching up at the beautiful Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, CA. Family photos together on the Calamigos Ranch property was the perfect activity to explore the grounds and get everyone dressed up before their celebratory dinner out. Congrats to the French fam on all the exciting milestones you're celebrating together!

Congratulations Erin and Jordan on your beautiful Calamigos Ranch wedding!
There were so many thoughtful and personal details to this wedding—a family keepsake carved turtle ring box, a hand-fasting ceremony, a surprise choreographed dance with the bride and her bridesmaids, loads of nods to Harry Potter—and the Calamigos Ranch setting played the perfect backdrop to Erin and Jordan's vows and celebration as they danced the night away under the stars. Coordinator: Heather from Three Sisters Weddings Venue: Oak Room at Calamigos Ranch Officiant: Chris Stratton (family member) Food/Beverage/Catering: Calamigos Ranch Videographer: Kyle Lidtka (friend from church) DJ/Music: Kyle Mcauley, DJ Lunakye Flowers: LA Floral Couture Cake: Karma Bakery + Ralph’s Dress: BHLDN Nothing says summertime like ocean waves, tacos, cocktails, and... roller skating?!? At Pasea Hotel and Spa in Huntington Beach, that's exactly right. These fun-lovin' photos highlight the easy breezy good times had by all at the annual roller skating rink at Pasea Hotel and Spa that pops up every summer. Here for a good (disco) time, not a long time. Don't miss out on your chance to limbo under a disco ball right next to the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean.

She creates videos, works with clients remotely, and blogs on her website www.nicholeproffitt.com For her brand photo session, she primarily needed images to use on her website. Even more than standard headshots, she needed images that introduce her to her clientele and represent the sort of work she does, ultimately attracting the right clients for her. We decided to shoot in a variety of settings, all in one day: a sidewalk cafe, a hiking trail, and a beachfront walking park. She brought props and outfit changes and a friend and we all had a great time producing beautiful images that Nichole will use for years to come!
