Malibu Senior Photographer | Sasha Senior Pictures in Malibu

I'm all heart eyes over Sasha's senior photos, shot right here in the hills of Malibu, California, where she grew up, made friends, and learned to play soccer before moving across the country to play college soccer.

We started out with a few more classic, garden-style portraits in Sasha's backyard in Malibu, then we walked over to the hiking trails overlooking her house and the surrounding coastline, where we marveled at the beautiful golden hues of the setting sun.

A Pepperdine student club needed headshots for their members, as a value-add. These photos will serve as LinkedIn headshots, resumé headshots, or just a great asset to have on hand as they pursue their professional development.

In this particular case, the photos were shot indoors, after dark, so I augmented the lighting situation with studio lights and a flash to make for clean coloring and even skin tones.

Holy Yoga Retreat | Yoga Photography

Yoga poses are beautiful. Nature is even more beautiful.

I was lucky enough to go on a fantastic trip last month to a yoga retreat in Arizona, and of course I met some remarkable women.

We all have things to share, and great photography is one of mine. It was an honor to snap some candids, some poses, and some head shots out in God's green creation.

Julie | Malibu Senior Portrait Photography at the Adamson House

Julie is a lacrosse-playing, no-shoes-wearing, bundle of hopes and dreams for the future. That's why I LOVE senior portraits, because it gives me the chance to get excited with you about college, the end of high school, the next steps. It also reminds me that life unfolds in stages; and the only rule in that is you can't ever go back. So the moral of the story? Don't rush it. Enjoy this stage. Enjoy now.

We shot Julie's senior portraits at the historic Adamson House, right on the beach in Malibu, CA. We've been getting rain recently, so the grass was crazy green and the sky perfectly clean and clear. We picked golden hour on a Monday and had the whole grounds to ourselves. The house has lots of nooks and crannies on the outside, that offer visual interest. In Julie's photos, you'll see some of the distinct Malibu tile that decorates the patios and fountains. Julie's older brother and younger sister jumped into a few of the shots and we even convinced Mom to take a few!

Congratulations Julie on being a senior and I hope you go to Pepperdine!!

Hannah's Senior Portraits | El Matador Beach, Malibu, CA

Hannah is a sweet Southern belle from Arkansas who visited Malibu for her cousin's high school graduation. What better place to kick off her senior portraits than the beach? We started at their beach rental house for a few poolside frames, then headed down to my favorite portrait beach, El Matador State Beach (made famous for the "I'm a bird" scene in The Notebook).

Even on a foggy June morning, low tide at El Matador was stunning with plenty of space for walking and rock hopping. The marine layer meant we had the whole beach to ourselves!

Fitness Photography | Stacy

Stacy is a Pilates and spin instructor with a passion for constantly learning new skills and sports. For her foray into the world of fitness modeling, Stacy needed a set of images that showcased her many talents and ability to maintain form and composure in front of a camera.

We hit the gym, the spin bike, the stair, and the studio on campus at Pepperdine University for these shots.

With her willingness to try anything new and still look great while doing it, I'm banking on seeing Stacy on the cover of Women's Health in the near future!
