Dume Cove, Malibu, CA
This is one of my fave photography beaches because its sheer cliffs right at the shoreline block the sun in the case of less-than-ideal light. In this particular case, we started shooting at 4pm, which is way too early for golden hour (sunset was at 7:45 pm) but necessary to maximize 2-year-old Lincoln's happiest timeframe. The cliffs blocked the afternoon sun to create soft golden light on the beach.
Pro tip: the beach is very rocky and only accessible via steep stairs down the cliffside. Watch where you step!
