The Chapas might be one of the most photogenic families I've seen in a while. Their two girls were cute as could be in their sweet dresses, and with the beautiful golden light of summer sunset at El Matador Beach, it felt like I couldn't take a bad photo!
I love shooting weddings and engagements, but there's something so special about snapping photos of a couple who has been married for several years. They know how to dance and kiss. They know how to look deeply into one another's eyes and be swept away.
El Matador is sometimes a tricky beach, because when the tide is high or coming in, the waves can sweep all the way up the sand to the rocky cliffs. The water leaves you nowhere to hide, and steals your sandals if you left them somewhere you hoped would be high and dry. This evening was one such situation, but rather than let the foaming waves (literally) dampen their spirits, the Chapas waded and danced around in the waves, laughing when they got wet and making for so many fun and candid moments. Thanks for a wonderful and memorable shoot!
