With its acres of gardens, outbuildings, and prime beachfront setting, the Adamson House is the perfect setting for snapping a set of timeless portraits. Summer (with Mama and doggo in tow!) and I explored every nook and cranny of old Malibu estate and came out the other side with these gems.
Disclaimer: Summer snapped these during her freshman year of college, buuuuuut I'm still counting them in the senior portraits category. A sunrise, a Saturday morning, and this knockout senior in high school. Don't ever tell me you can't work it in knee-high boots on a hiking trail. Because Grace showed us all that it's possible.
Location: Wildwood Regional Park, Thousand Oaks, CA Eric is a Malibu kid, born and raised, so what better spot to snap his senior portraits than at one of Malibu's many surf breaks. A little rock-hopping, a little wave-spotting, and a little smiling led to a beautiful set of photos that show Eric in his natural habitat.
Location: Point Dume Cove, Malibu, CA El Matador Beach is always great for a fun senior session. Lots of rocks to sit, stand, lean on. And it's always my favorite when Mom jumps into a few!!
Braelyn is graduating from high school and what better way to memorialize that than a fun, beachy photo shoot!? We headed down to El Matador State Beach (my favorite photographer's beach) for some golden light and low tide shenanigans. Take a look!
Like these? I shoot lots of senior portraits! Malibu is full is incredible locations, from parks to beaches, to hidden fields full of ready-to-photograph natural landscaping (i.e. weeds). Shoot me an email and let's schedule an hour or so to make some great images together that you'll treasure for years to come.
It's been 10 years since I applied to universities, but it might as well have been a hundred. When I was a high school senior, I listed extracurricular involvement on five 2-inch blank lines and tried to paint a picture of my service resume with printed words on a page. Today, high school seniors are using the power of websites to supplement their common applications and personal statements. Two of these high school seniors approached me to build something clean and attractive to showcase their personalities and accomplishments. Charlotte and Olivia each put their own personality into their sites and we created a simple yet powerful brand identity for each of their sites to match each of the students' personal presentation. Charlotte was personal and earthy. Olivia was minimalist and fashion-forward. Charlotte highlighted the breadth of her experiences and talents by showcasing her original paintings, the fundraising projects she implemented for mission trips, and her dedication to helping the less fortunate in mission work with Operation Smile & Made in the Streets. Click through Charlotte's site at www.charlotterjackson.com Olivia chose to showcase her beautiful photography, to which she has shown tremendous dedication over her high school years. We created a page for each genre of her photography interests, with full-width banners, captions providing more information about the various frames and projects, and tying it all together with an about page, sharing her artistic vision. Click through Olivia's site at www.olainebarrett.com Five years ago, I first met the Cash family at their home in Fort Portal, Uganda. One of the first things I noticed about them was how close they are as a family unit. They are one another's best friends. Theirs is a love born of years of teamwork, as they face daily challenges in ways that our lives in America are convenient and easy. (Have YOU ever had to drive to another country just to purchase toilet paper?) The Cash family showed us hospitality, welcome, and authentic kindness during a summer spent in the mountains of northern Uganda on a small business development project and I have felt a debt of gratitude toward them ever since. This summer, they stayed with us while passing through on their 4-month furlough. They spent a few days playing on our perfect Malibu beaches, touring Pepperdine (maybe they'll send Kinley here in a couple years!), and enjoying some down time together. Early in the morning at sunrise, we all drove down to Zuma Beach to get our feet in the sand and snap a few family photos, followed by some portraits of Kinley, the resident high school senior. It was such a joy to get to do what I love with this incredible family! Keep up with the Cash family at www.whereheleads.com Like these? I shoot lots of families!
